Also, that feel when you look somewhat similar to Lieutenant General Schultz, German Intelligence.

In some ways he wanted what was best for his people, but on top of that he was an egotistical maniac whose ambitions overcame his desire to serve and turned to a horrific slaughter of people of all nationalities and religions. In some ways I wish modern ideologies were more keen to serve their nation and their people, but I'm thankful there's nobody like him in power, at least in the west. A murderous cunt.

Praised as the greatest hero of all times in western Germany and northern parts of Denmark, in reality Adolf the Hitler was in fact very, very evil. He killed more than than 6,000,000 million innocent jews.

Didn't Hitler know what bad taste it is to wear that style of moustache?

He wanted what was best for his people, but was harboured with strong racial prejudices which, combined with his strong temper, fearsome persona and bad faith friends, drove away people who could have made the 3rd Reich a peaceful, strong place and fostered his hopes to have a greater German nation with British co-operation and left him to be poisoned by people like Goering, Himmler, etc. It was they who orchestrated the Holocaust. But Hitler was the one who signed the order to go ahead. I wonder sometimes if he wasn't actually MADE to sign the order by his supposed "subordinates". Perhaps it's a coincidence he died a madman and a drug addict, perhaps not. I wouldn't be surprised if it ever came out that he was just a puppet, though.

Hang on there a second; he may have been a shambolic mess by the end, but for a long time he was very much in control - the night of the long knives leaps to mind, and the amti-semitic laws started coming in as soon as the Nazis seized power in 1933. Other people may have planned and executed the Holocaust, but they were people he had chosen to surround himself with and put into positions of power, and it was the logical conclusion of arguments he'd been making since not long after the end of the first world war.

But who knows what facts have been lost to history? Did Hitler TRULY want to dispose of his personal private army? Was he threatened of his personal safety? Was he persuaded that it would hurt Germany?

The early Anti-Jew laws were oppressive, but no worse than knocking the status of the Jew down to the levels that Jim Crow laws of the time did to blacks over in the USA (not condoning either policies, of course).

The people he surrounded himself with were so strong-willed and more de facto in control of Germany than Hitler was. I find it very difficult to believe they weren't just paying him lip service whilst working to their own ends. I think he would have found himself assassinated not long after the war was won by the Axis (or if the war never happened).

He had the right general idea about most things but was little more than a charismatic orator, moderately intelligent, but far from an intellectual. The exact type of man who appeals to the masses. If he was alive today he would probably have a popular youtube channel.

1/10, and not worth resurrecting a three-month-old thread for.
