Four minutes into overtime. It takes some doing to keep the ball in play for four minutes after 80, especially against South Africa.

That was a fantastic day's play. Georgia upsetting Tonga, Sexton making his 500, and France putting on a decent display. But that Japan game really made it.

I never thought I'd find myself cheering for Argentina, but here I am.

Also, Mourinho's in the box. I assume Steve Hansen will be calling him in to do the post-match press conference.

Well done to Argentina for being the first team ever to deprive New Zealand of a Word Cup bonus point.

Pool B is looking deadly now. Scotland now have to play a Japanese side who will want to continue their run, and the Springboks will almost certainly be out for blood when they play Samoa.

How about those Namibians, eh? They really didn't stop trying. I'm wondering if the All Blacks are slipping a bit. They failed to get the bonus against the Argies, and "only" won by 40 last night.

The Saffers appear to be taking out their frustrations on the Samoans - three tries on the board with 15 minutes left to go.

Naturally, everyone in the media is hyping tonight's match way beyond 11. It had better be fucking good after all that.

The Septics gave the Porridgewogs a bit of a scare today. It took a second-half surge from the men in ginger to avoid an embarrassment. Shame, really - the USA pulling off an upset would have blown the pool wide open. Pools C and D looking like business as usual, with the exception of Georgia sitting in the consolation spot rather than Tonga.

Ireland join Wales in the quarter-finals. Italy are favourites to join England in the thanks-for-visiting-please-come-again consolation spot.

I didn't see the Argentina game, but I hear there were a couple of fantastic tries. Highlights 10:15 on ITV.

Tonight's Scrum V should be interesting (again).

Georgia tied up the third-place see-you-next-time consolation spot, though Namibia made them fight for it. Tonga predictably got a beating at the hands of the All Blacks to confirm the Lelos' spot in Japan 2019. I imagine this is only going to strengthen the calls to effectively make the Six Nations into a Premier Division for the European Nations Cup with promotion and relegation, given Georgia have won the top division for the last five seasons in a row.
