How is the .gs app coming along? Do I have to wait much longer for real time push notifications for when someone calls me a bumder on /IQ/?

Wouldn't hold your breath. Though it would be nice to have an app, I don't think there's any active development on it.

I thought long long ago about making one - couldn't quite see what it would add.

Wasn't there a webapp designed mainly for idevices at one point? I feel like I was using that at uni, which was nearly a decade ago now.

I know this isn't the place to fully discuss it but Nathan Barely was a masterpiece. It was just so pitch perfect, and very funny. I think it was covering a very specific sort of person who was only really able to exist in a very narrow time period which is why it's largely forgotten as a show, but it was great.

I definitely work with a lot of post-Barleys now, they usually start design pitches by making you smell different oxygens so they can 'determine my zeitgeist'

I think the reason it's forgotten is because it was ahead of its time. If it was shown about five years or so later, when hipsters were more in the mainstream consciousness, then it would have fared much better.

I'm a big Morris fan, I tried watching this but I couldn't really get past the obnoxiousness. Nor the fact that, that subhuman Noel Fielding is in it.

I think there was... or at least, I share your delusion. I remember using some sort of different URL (/m/? m.britfa.gs?) which worked just about OK on my iPod Touch.

Must've been at least 5 years ago...

An app isn't on the cards, but are push notifications really something we'd want? In the past I'd have been concerned about them changing the tone - encouraging cunt-offs basically - but these days they might help out the flagging post count.

iOS would be excluded because mobile Safari doesn't do them.

I can't imagine having any need for them, but I accept that most people probably don't visit the site as many times a day as I do.

It isn't a feature I would like, but I could see why you might.

I am thinking of having a short period of time where you can edit one of your own posts - people (quite rightly!) delete and repost, which is a bit of a faff - particularly in the days of autocorrection where it is very easy for a typo or odd word to end up in there. Think it might be quite easy to do.

I'm an embedded systems programmer, so I may be off the mark here. Clover for 4chan is, I believe, open source; if Brian has the right API, surely it would not be too much of a struggle to modify?

It seems a little bit busier of late, well compared with a year or so ago.

I might get a shitposting clause worked into my contract.

I'd be into that, but only if the post doesn't say 'edited' or have a little star in the corner, because that drives me even more nuts than having a typo in my post.

Obviously if it's just a couple of minutes grace period, then there's no need for that.

Would it work fine with the live thread updating?

Probably not, but we are having an active conversation at the moment about how that works (in a secret place) and how it should work in the future.

I'm well aware I have nothing to add to the conversation but this has triggered a lot of FOMO, as the kids say.
