Would a game of D&D work on this board? If I Dm'd you chaps/lady chaps could say what you wanted and I'd make all the relevant rolls.

We set one up proper before, the thread might still be there if you have a look it might give you some ideas.

Still, It was well received if memory serves.

Wasn't that Fighting Fantasy rather than D&D?

Those threads were great fun.

I just wanted to mostly harmlessly bum someone. How else is a master fencer and slayer of innumerable bandits supposed to celebrate? I think you've rather revealed yourself with that post.

Futa's disgusting as well. Something really freaks me out about the idea of a cock AND a vagina on the same person. I know that's entirely off topic, I just had to get it off my chest.

Fighting Fantasy worked because of the linear nature of the books, and that we could all chip in on decisions about one central character. I can't see how people would be able to consistently play their characters given the anonymous nature of the board; it would almost certainly descend into farce very rapidly. So, a serious game wouldn't work on here (as someone else said, some form of chat program would be the best bet), but a shambolic mess of a game might be a giggle depending on what you had in mind.

I've considered some kind of role play game over .gs but cant get to grips with how it'd work. As far as I can figure, any RPG would have to take the form of a 'quest thread', in that we all play the one character, but this doesn't lend well to the low activity across .gs (I think the success of quest threads depends on how many people are available to be interested at any given time).

I'd like to see a peasant quest in which our protagonist mud farmer goes about his daily routine of farming mud.

Is the path a well-trodden one or a little dirt track? How big is the cave, are there any more details on anything that you can give us? A good GM/DM should be spry with their tongue.

You approach the cavern with trepidation. The cave is dark, and from within, echoes of an unknown beast's ponderous footsteps can be heard.

Amid the scattered rags and discarded bones in the entrance before you, the earth is damp with a glistening, milky substance.

What would you like to do?

You kneel down carefully, peering through squinted eyes at the mysterious white fluid. Stretching out two fingers, you dip into the substance, and bring a goblet up to your mouth, letting the beefy fluid overwhelm your tastebuds. You stand up straight, licking your lips, a positive energy load welling up within you.

How will you proceed?
