Are there any forms of art that make no sense whatsoever to you?

Are you talking about modern art?
Self-indulgent shoegazing performances and installations like Sophie Calle's The Sleepers or Emin's Everyone I Have Ever Slept With are pretty high up there in my hate list.
It disguises selfish mediocrity as being 'personal' and 'poignant', when in reality it's just someone's Twitter or Facebook account made into an art piece.
I hate it when artists take themselves too seriously.
I also hate dadaism, but simply because it's such a deliberate non-art form. It's like early 20th century trolling.
Also one of my mates considers himself a dadaist and he's a proper cunt. This is my main reason.

I think of modern art as being kind of arts autistic child. It's completely wrapped in its own world and rarely communicates enough with the rest of the world for it to be understood- if it's making sense in the first place.

The Neoist movement made no sense even to its participants - it was a comment on the redundancy of art movements.

I detest Banksy's work above all other living artists and the admiration his useless regressive ultra-conservative shit receives really doesn't make sense to me.

Oh thank god, I know so many people who love banksy. I don't know why. He's a huge, horrible cliche and seems entirely predictable (and rather boring).

Hah, I enjoyed that.

It's odd. Arty people I know in real life tend to love him and his stuff, but online, he's strongly disliked. I suppose .gs is a bit more exclusive than day to day life.

>Arty people I know in real life tend to love him and his stuff,

Really? My experience is the complete opposite. He was fun for a while, and he certainly knows how to market himself, but there's no real substance to him.

Most of the "arty people" I know are student hipsters of some sort of another.

Ah, I can see how that would be a problem.
